Over 3,000 farmers in the 5th section of Cavaillon lost not only their homes but their livestocks and farms. With it being rainy season, it is imperative for these farmers to receive the seeds they need as the lives of so many others depend on their agriculture efforts- Haitian farmers feed the rest of the country!
CEHAH is currently on location with the people of Cavallion, specifically in the village of Camark. We're making agriculture efforts top priority and we need your help to provide seeds and other resources to harvest. A recent article by Fruitworld cites the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) reported the most affected crops in the southern region; which includes Cavaillon are: rice, corn, banana, fruit and forest trees.
In keeping with our mandate to promote local agriculture, CEHAH will buy seeds from local merchants and distribute them to the farmers we're working with. You can make a tax-deductible donation today to support this initiative. Haitian farmers need seeds to start rebuilding.
